These BMW vehicles came with 3 different available audio systems.

Standard
These systems contained 4 midrange speakers and 2 underseat woofers, all powered off of the factory iDrive radio.

Hi-Fi
This optional upgrade consisted of 5 midrange woofers (one installed as a centre speaker in the dash), 2 tweeters and 2 underseat woofers. This system included a 7 channel amplifier that required a separate feed for turn on (it didn't use the BMW MOST system).

Harman Kardon
The top end audio system in this model incorporated 7 tweeters and 7 midrange woofers (one of each installed as an in-dash centre speaker), and 2 underseat woofers. The mid and low end woofers were connected to a 9 channel amplifier which was connected to the BMW MOST system. This system is easily detectable by the Harman Kardon badges on the front tweeter grills.

When replacing the factory radio, the separate installation components are not available. Instead a kit of everything required is available below.

These kits are designed for double DIN aftermarket radios only.
