Humans can typically hear sound frequencies between 20Hz and 20kHz. A standard set of 6.5" speakers, like those installed into a car in the factory, can reproduce everything from 100Hz and above. That leaves a big gap where we can hear, but our system just isn't capable of playing. This is where subwoofers come in!
Subwoofers will reproduce these lower frequency sounds, giving you the entire song as the artist intended. The deep thuds of the bass drum, the groove of a bass guitar and the lower order of a piano, all of these will benefit from the addition of a subwoofer.
Our range features great subwoofers from the likes of Morel and Kicker Audio, so why not use our search tool to find out which subwoofer is best for your car?
CHOOSING SUBWOOFERS FOR YOUR CAR OR VAN
Generally, subwoofers are available from 6 inches to 15 inches, but make sure you check all of the specifications of a subwoofer before you buy. This is because you may need additional equipment - like an amplifier - to install it.
There are four kinds of car subwoofer speaker, including component subwoofers, powered subwoofers, enclosed subwoofers, and vehicle-specific subwoofers. If you're looking for a ready-to-go subwoofer setup, you should take a look at our enclosed subwoofer page.
If you'd like more information on the different types, give our team a call - they'd be happy to guide you to the right subwoofer for your vehicle.
