An amplifier brings you more than just decibels – you will also hear detail in the music. Instead of losing most of the notes to wind and engine noise, you will hear your favourite music the way you know it is supposed to sound.
Below is a “rough guide” to adding sub power:
- Standard Factory Stereo — 50 to 200 watts RMS of power for the bass.
- Aftermarket Stereo — you may want to have between 200 to 300 watts RMS for the subwoofer.
- Amplified System with around 50 watts RMS per speaker channel — plan on 250 to 500 watts RMS for the bass.
- Amplified System with 100 watts RMS per speaker channel (or higher)— we recommend at least 1000 watts RMS for your subwoofer.
It is absolutely essential to match the mono amp and subwoofer before you order either one.
For setting the input sensitivity (gain) on an amplifier, a sine wave test tone is required.
