A lot of noise is created aboard a boat, in many cases the source of that noise is vibration. This vibration noise is caused, despite the best efforts of naval engineers and boat designers because you have a large (and perfectly formed) combination of metal, wood and glass reinforced plastic travelling across an often unforgiving expanse of water at speed.
The most effective way of eliminating vibration noise is through a physics process called ‘Damping’. Damping is the conversion of vibratory motions, such as noise, by dissipation of energy – performance is measured by “acoustic loss factor”, the higher the better. Independent tests show Xtreme to outperform is closest competitor by nearly 30%, all from a material which is optimised for ease of installation by being a light and as thin as possible without compromising performance. Our variants below are the same product just in different pack sizes.
