Subwoofers
WHY ADD A SUBWOOFER?
People often mistake subwoofers for noise makers, big speakers that drown out all other sound. The truth is subwoofers reproduce an important part of the sound spectrum and adding them into a system can help you hear the whole sound (think of the low sounds of a subwoofer being the same as the red and orange of the rainbow, without it, it is incomplete).
Subwoofers are available in varying sizes (generally 6-15”) with differing power handling. A general rule of thumb is increasing the size and power will increase the volume. Of course with any subwoofer you will want to match an adequate amplifier to make sure you get the most output you can. If you need any help in making sure you have a well matched sub/amp combination then we suggest you speak to one of our professional network of installers.
Our automotive subwoofers are designed to work within an enclosure and so should be installed in one. If you would rather purchase a subwoofer already loaded into a specifically paired box then you should check out our enclosure section.
